Russell was born in Pequannock Township, New Jersey and lived in West Milford. Danielle grew up in the family of former dancer Rosemary Rado and singer Walter Russell. Danielle began modeling in her youth, appearing on the pages of magazines and commercials. The girl began her acting career in the school theater: she played in several productions at the Holy Spirit High School in Pequannock Township.
